Reality TV Casting

By Tim Newton

It seems that in almost everyone's life there comes a moment when they want to be a superstar. Years ago it was virtually impossible to get a job even as an extra on any TV show. That's not the case anymore as it seems that almost every week new reality TV shows are debuting. For a person determined to have their fifteen minutes of fame, this can be a great route to pursue.

The first step is determining which of the current programs you might be most interested in and have the greatest chance of being chosen for. If you can't hold a note, you probably need to stay away from casting for reality TV shows like "American Idol" or "America's Got Talent." Dancers would do nicely to try out for "So You think You Can Dance."

You don't need to panic if you don't have any natural singing, dancing or acting talent. There is a whole host of reality TV shows that concentrate on intelligence along with persuasion. Think of shows like "Survivor" and "The Apprentice." These require brains along with a sparkling and unique personality.

Some shows are designed to bring up the emotion. They take everyday people in life situations that are difficult and go about making radical changes, Shows like "The Biggest Loser" and "Extreme Home Make Over: Home Edition" do this. They appear to offer support but this may not be the case according to Dr Vaughn Alaine-Marshall's book uberstar. Some of the outcomes of the show on the participants are very distressing.

It can be very difficult to get into any of these programs, so don't give up on your first attempt. It takes focused intention to get the result you want. most shows first want to see a taped audition , make sure you tell them you are the best for the job. Remember thousands upon thousands of people apply for these shows so make sure you are the best for the job and stand out from the crowd

Always be genuine and be real to yourself, you will come across a lot better and you will feel better. By being yourself you will allow your personality to come through which gives you the unique twist the producers are after. When they ask you to come in for an interview remember to dress for the part. also prepare yourself physically before doing anything. remember to warm up.

In the case of the "Amazing Race" the teams generally consist of two people, and both need to be presented during the audition process. Each should be individual but they need to illustrate that they work well together. Reality TV shows that feature partners or people living together are looking for personalities that can both mesh and clash. After all, that's part of what we all experience everyday in the real world.

Tattoo Machines Are A Safe Way To Apply Tattoos

By Rian Haswanda

Tattoo guns are the machines that are utilized to create and apply tattoos. These guns are also known as tattoo machines. They are used for years to create stylish and beautiful pieces of body art. Today, tattoo machines are used in shops and parlors all over the world.

The tattoo gun was invented in the 1870s. It was invented by the famous inventor Thomas Edison. But it was not can be used as a tattoo machine. Edison intended the machine for use as an engraving machine. However, in the 1890s another inventor found that Edison's gun could be harnessed for a machine to introduce ink into a person's skin for tattooing. Thus, the first tattoo gun was created.

Since its creation in the late 1800s, tattoo guns already went through a a process of modernization. Guns today now use electromagnets. Electromagnets allow the tattoo artist to control the tattoo process. The artist can control the depth of the tattoo needle, the speed of the needle and the force of the tattooing process. They are an effective and precise way to create and apply a tattoo of any size.

Tattoo machines or guns are made in assorted sizes. Some machines are made to apply one color and other machines enable you to apply multiple colors. Regardless of size and use of a tattoo gun the right care and maintenance is important. Guns that are maintained and cared for properly will produce high quality and beautiful tattoos.

Some people choose to generate a tattoo gun at home. A homemade gun can actually be made rather easily. However, unless a tattoo machine is made properly it is usually very dangerous. Both tattoo and medical professionals do not recommend the usage of a homemade tattoo gun.

Tattoo machines are the modern way to apply tattoos. Before the invention of tattoo machines tattoos were applied by hand. Hand applied tattoos often looked sloppy. The designs were not as accurate as they has been. Plus, the tattooing process was usually not very safe. Some people who received a tattoo wound up with skin problems or other infections.

Once the tattoo machine was invented incidents of problems related to tattoos decreased tremendously. Tattoo guns created a sterile application process for tattoos, at least when they were used properly. Even today tattooing is not totally safe. Artists should be trained in appropriate sterilization and use of tattoo supplies. Appropriate training will always ensure a safe and healthy tattoo application process.

Tattoo machines can be sold separately and maybe they are often sold in tattoo kits. Guns that are sold in tattoo kits are a good choice for small tattoo shops or beginning artists that are learning the trade and art of tattooing. Tattoo kits often include other items besides guns. These items include inks and other items that an artist needs to successfully operate a tattoo gun and complete the tattooing process.

Talent Agencies, And... Action!

By Jill Cornerstone

Finding a Talent Agency Pointers

If you have the talent to work in the entertainment industry, then you'll do yourself a favor by seeking a leading talent agency to represent you in your pursuit of stardom. A licensed agency that works with all the top major casting directors, whether it be for print media, TV commercials or series, movies, music videos, etc.

Your exposure will increase and your opportunities for creating a successful career will rise once you have this agency putting you in front of its vast clientele. One of the things an agency should pride itself on is the identifying of true talent and then working hard to promote that talent.

Are You What the Agency is Looking for?

It's important that you realize how much your future career depends on you and your actions/dedication above and beyond the obvious need for a talent agency that can match your talent with work. There are some people out there who have children that possess acting talent but not enough social skills to handle this type of work.

It's important that you figure out whether your child is right for this particular professional field. This probably isn't the business for your child if your child is constantly acting out, is ill mannered and doesn't gracefully take the direction of the very people who are trying to better his/her career.

What do You bring to the Table?

If you're a teen or adult, then you need to think carefully about what you bring to the table in terms of talent, mental attitude and overall enthusiasm and energy. If you're not prepared to invest many hours on casting calls, deal with all situations with a positive and winning attitude, send out your composites on a regular basis, etc, then this may not be the place for you.

Understand, though, that Avenue Productions is absolutely ready to help you finding the right parts or roles with the right clients if you're ready to bring the right attitude and effort into your work. Get going with the next successful aspect of your career by contacting Avenue and filling out their registration form today.

Patriots Humble Bucs In London

By Ross Everett

Sunday's game between the New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers was played in an unusual venue, but produced the expected result. In the NFL's third regular season game in London, England the Patriots showed the Wembley Stadium crowd why they're among the league's best as they methodically dismantled the Bucs en route to a 35-7 victory. Oddly, it took a trans-Atlantic trip for the Pats to get their first road win of the season-the Bucs were 'officially' the home team in the contest. New England QB Tom Brady threw for 308 yards and 3 touchdowns, though was picked off twice in the workmanlike victory.

The Patriots easily covered the pointspread as -15' 'road' favorites, and improved their record against the number to 4-3 on the season. The Bucs have struggled almost as badly against the NFL pointspread as they have straight up, and slipped to 1-6 versus the money. The 42 combined points scored went UNDER the posted total of 44'. Tampa Bay has gone OVER in four of their seven games, while New England has gone UNDER in 4 of 7.

Afterwards, Pats' QB Brady said that he's enjoying the trip to England-as well as the victory:

"I'm feeling great. I keep rolling. That's two wins in a row. We went out there and put two touchdowns on the board there in the second half. We had plenty of distractions coming over here, but everybody was really energized. To get the win and fly home and have a bye week off is just great."

NFL football is still a big deal in soccer mad England, and over 80,000 fans jammed the stadium for the game. League commissioner Roger Goodell has stated that he'd like to see multiple regular season games held in London, with a possibility of the city eventually receiving an NFL franchise. Even a superstar like Tom Brady wasn't quite used to the rock star like treatment he received in England:

"All the flashbulbs were going off there before the kickoff. They went on for about 10 minutes, which you don't see in the States too often. I think it's a privilege to come over here and get to enjoy this type of experience. It will probably never happen again for us, so we'll retire 1-0 internationally."

Even the taciturn coach Bill Belichick was pleased with the experience:

"It's a great way to end this week. It's been an enjoyable couple days here and glad we could end it on a positive note."

And even in Europe, Bucs' first year coach Raheem Morris continued to sound like a man in over his head as he made his weekly excuse filled post game comments:

"Tom, he's the guy that changed the game. He's the guy you worry about constantly. When you have a great quarterback like that, that's what he does and that's what he will do for you."

The Bucs have now lost 11 straight games, their longest losing streak since a NFL record 26 game losing run in'76-77. As Brady noted, New England will have a bye next week as will Tampa Bay.

Strikeforce Signs BJJ Specialist 'Jacare'

By Ross Everett

The San Jose, CA based Strikeforce MMA promotion recently announced that they have signed Brazilian middleweight Ronaldo 'Jacare' Souza to a multifight contract. He is expected to make his Strikeforce debut on the same October event as recently signed Fedor Emelianenko, which will be broadcast on the Showtime premium cable network.

In a statement released by the promotion, Souza expressed his pleasure at the signing:

"I am very excited that I will have the opportunity to fight in STRIKEFORCE amongst many of the worlds best middleweight fighters. STRIKEFORCE has an extremely deep roster of top middleweight fighters. I am looking forward to the challenge and to taking my career to the next level."

Souza is better known in Japan simply as Ronaldo Jacare. He got the nickname in his hometown of Manaus, Brazil--a Portuguese term for a species of alligator that is common to the area. He clearly likes the moniker, and is known for making ring entrances either shimmying on the ground like his reptilian namesake or making alligator jaws with his arms.

Hes also considered one of the best Brazilian Jiu Jitsu practitioners in the sport. He was a runner up in the 2008 DREAM Middleweight Grand Prix Tournament, losing in the finals to Gegard Mousasi. Jacare was in control of the fight until he got caught by a Mousasi upkick that knocked him unconscious. Hes tentatively slated to face Jason 'Mayhem' Miller again at DREAM 11 in October, though that hasnt been addressed either by Strikeforce or DREAM parents FEG. With the two promotions recently agreeing to a working relationship that includes a talent exchange, theres a possibility the matchup could be contested on the October Strikeforce event.

Souza began training in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu at the age of 17 and fought MMA legend Randy The Natural Couture to a draw in a grappling contest in 2006. Shortly thereafter he began training at Xtreme Couture in Las Vegas. He has since returned to training in his homeland but will reportedly train in the United States at least part time going forward.

MMA fans are already anticipating several excellent potential matchups for Jacare in Strikeforce, including an almost inevitable showdown with another of the worlds top middleweights, Jake Shields. Also of great interest would be a catchweight matchup between Souza and Shields Cesar Gracie Jiu Jitsu teammate, Nick Diaz.

Houston Beats Kansas City In Rainy NFL Preseason Contest

By Ross Everett

It was the sort of sloppy NFL preseason game that made the coaches more interested in escaping with as few injuries as possible than with winning or evaluating talent. In a driving rainstorm at Arrowhead Stadium the Houston Texans outlasted the Kansas City Chiefs to take a 16-10 NFL exhibition victory. It was the first game of the NFL preseason for both teams, and they were more or less happy to emerge unscathed from the deluge.

Texans coach Gary Kubiak summed up the teams mindset in such awful weather conditions:

"It was a very sloppy night weather-wise and whoever plays the best defense and whoever doesn't put it on the ground usually finds a way to win in this league. I was glad we did, but we paid a price. We have some guys banged up and that usually happens when you get out there in a mess like that."

The biggest name to suffer an injury was Houston backup QB Rex Grossman. Kubiak gave an early assessment of his prognosis after the game:

"It looks like he has a pretty good hamstring. The first play when he went in he booted and said he felt his hamstring pull or pop, or whatever. So we'll have to wait and see."

Texans running back Ryan Moats had 52 yards on 10 carries, and was happy just to be playing in an actual game:

"It felt good to finally hit somebody else for a change and not worry about hurting anybody else."

Texans starting QB Matt Schaub was generally pleased with his performance:

"We ran the ball effectively down in the red zone and we were able to finish that drive 95 yards for a touchdown. That's the way you want to finish off your day."

Kansas Citys head coach Todd Haley made his NFL coaching debut, and wasn't particularly down about it being a loss:

"It's your first game as head coach and I know it's just preseason, but it was an exciting, exciting moment for me. If you tell me the first real one's a win, I'll take this loss any day of the week. It's a special feeling when it's your team and a lot of responsibility comes with that and I didn't live up to my end of that. That's the part that's got to change."

Houstons NFL preseason campaign continues on Saturday as they host the New Orleans Saints. Kansas City will play against the Vikings at Minnesota on Friday night.
